The Plumbing programme at Embu College is a competency-based course accredited by CDACC and designed to equip learners with practical skills in water supply systems, drainage systems, sanitation installation, and pipe fitting. The programme focuses on hands-on technical training to prepare students for employment in construction projects, maintenance services, and self-employment ventures.
With the increasing demand for housing, commercial buildings, and infrastructure development, skilled plumbing professionals are highly sought after. This course ensures graduates meet industry standards in installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair of plumbing systems.
Level 4 (Artisan): 2–3 Modules (2–3 Semesters)
Level 5 (Certificate): 3 Modules
Each module represents one semester and follows CDACC occupational standards.
Level 4: KCSE D-
Level 5: KCSE D or D+
Interpretation of plumbing drawings and building plans
Installation of cold and hot water supply systems
Drainage and waste disposal systems
Sanitary fittings installation
Pipe cutting, bending and joining techniques
Installation of solar water heating systems
Maintenance and repair of plumbing systems
Occupational safety and health compliance
Students are assessed through practical demonstrations of skills in simulated and real construction environments.
